Sixty Seniors and Sixth Graders in This Year's Graduation

Twenty-six 6th Graders and 34 High School Seniors adjusted their tassles to the right as they were pronounced IJSB's graduates for this school year. The ceremonies were held at the CAP Auditorium on March 26 following the joint Eucharistic Celebration at the San Augustin Church the previous day.

Dr. Herbert Glenn Reyes delivered the keynote speech emphasizing the educational influence of the school in the community, including IJSB founder Lilian Jabines Sanchez's lasting impression on Dr. Reyes, which prompted him to establish educational institutions of his own.

Following the singing of the IJSB Hymn was the Seniors' rendition of their original song, "Thank You, Teacher," which was in turn followed by a surprise rock performance of the IJSB Hymn by the IJSB White Strand Band (Click here for the video clip).

Lindie Lou G. Isidro (IV Year) and Clarisse M. Gelaga (6th Grade) were the class Valedictorians while Gretchen A. Pantua (IV Year) and Ariane Joy U. Larosa (6th Grade) were the Salutarorians. A Complete List of Honors and Academic Awards will follow shortly.

Graduating Class of 2008 Mounts Musical for Tribute to Parents

The prep, sixth grade and fourth year high school students put up a musical as their tribute to their parents. Once On This Island, written by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, is a Caribbean twist on the universal plot of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, as well as H.C. Andersen's The Little Mermaid.

The musical was held at the CAP Auditorium on March 23 with Ciara Beth Bergado as Timoune, Lyndie Lou Isidro as Mama Euralie, John Vincent Calva as Tonton Julian, Almin Larosa as Daniel Beauxhomme, and Vaneza Canosa as Andrea Devereaux. The Gods were played by Connie Luv Jumawid, John Chamberlane Canatoy, Rosannamae Sidlao and Gerard Valiente (Asaka, Agwe, Erzulie and Papa Ge, respectively).

Other cast members included Erlea Mae Ilisan as Little Timoune, Krystelle Mae Saavedra as Little Girl, Benz Gil Petallar as Daniel's Son, Aaron Handugan as Daniel's Father, and Rod Dominic Dagayday as Guard.

The entire number of graduating students rounded up the whole cast making the play seventy-seven strong. Click here for some video clips, or click the video screens to the right.
